Michael Wesely

Michaelwesely MomaThe German born photographer, Michael Wesely, has developed experimental techniques for creating images from very long (months, even years) exposures. When the Museum of Modern Art in New York began its renovation in the Summer of 2001, Wesely was commissioned to create a series of images recording the development. He set up several cameras, each one to record a single image over three years. The phenomenal series, Open Shutter, is now up at the recently re-opened MOMA. If you're able to get to the show, it's a must see-- it lends a new visualization to the perception of passing time.
