Jenny Holzer at Helmut Lang by Josh Rubin
Despite the hardly audible tst, tst. sir... no photo, s'il vous plaît of the uptight shop keeper, I was able to grab a shot of one of Jenny Holzer's latest pieces. The tickering text light artist has outdone herself this time by integrating an LED sculpture in to the handrail alongside a staircase. Installed in the almost one year old Helmut Lang Paris shop, this piece is like a river of words flowing both up and down stream.

Leo Villareal: Origin
Taking on Newtonian physics, Origin, New York-based light artist Leo Villareal's latest work, integrates the Laws of Motion into a computer code that controls an LED grid. Though randomized, the sequences created suggest biological patterns and, measuring nearly seven feet tall by 27 feet long, the large scale of the installation lends an experiential dimension and a god-like, macro point-of-view to the show. Leo Villareal's LED Light Tubes
Remember the LED tubes we saw at CES and showed you in this CH Video? Leo Villareal, our favorite light sculptor, has taken them and applied his sometimes soothing, other times frenetic animation style. The video below is of Columns 4 (4) (2005, light emitting diodes, microcontroller, plexiglas tubes, circuit board, 42 x 72 inches, edition: 3) a new piece featured by Connor Contrmporary...

Good things come in small packages, so great things must come from what has to be the smallest store in NYC, Laura Lobdell's jewelry store in the West Village, which opened last week.
